Who are we?
We are FRC Team 2994, the ASTECHZ, a community-based competitive robotics team from Kanata, Ontario. Our rookie year was in 2009, and we’ve been competing ever since. Our goal is to inspire students to pursue STEM through teaching soft skills and technical skills in a supportive and engaging environment. We provide all the resources and experiences to help today’s youth become future leaders and innovators.
Why join?
Participating on The ASTECHZ will give you the opportunity to learn many valuable technical and non-technical skills such as programming, manufacturing, public speaking, time management and much more. As a Team Member, you will participate on one of the sub-teams. These include Controls (programming and electronics), Fabrication, Design, and Business. It is a great opportunity for students in grades 9-12 to have fun while gaining valuable hands-on experience and life skills.
When?
The FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) is like a varsity sport, students face intense challenges and learn fast. We meet once per week during the Pre-Season (September to December), three times per week during the Build Season (January to February), and once per week during the Competition Season (February to April).
